Eight months after he initially filed a lawsuit over the actions of the D.C. Council, candidate Paul Zukerberg finally got a big win in his quest to force the election of a D.C. attorney general, an election which was approved by voters overwhelmingly in 2010.

Of the 41 arrestees, a Capitol Police spokeswoman said that 25 chose to “post and forfeit” — that is, post $50 collateral and forfeit their right to a court date. But 15 chose to go to court. (Another person, activist Billie Day, had to be taken to the hospital Monday night and was not fully processed.)

Advocates for D.C. statehood have tried lobbying Congress. They’ve tried rallies, protests, T-shirts and license plates. There’s an ongoing effort to collect a million signatures for a petition.
