Celebration of Life & Legacy: Faith Dane

Written by

FAITH DANE is best known for originating the role of the bugle-tooting burlesque stripper "Miss Mazeppa" on Broadway and her *starring* role in the 1962 movie GYPSY, being a six-time candidate for Mayor of the District of Columbia and serving one term as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, representing Single Member District 1C05.

"Mayor" FAITH may have left us last year, but her indomitable spirit remains. FAITH was a steadfast advocate for THE ARTS, DC STATEHOOD and RUNNING FOR PUBLIC OFFICE to effect the change she believed in, as well as to increase diversity and inclusiveness in our community.
