Events Calendar
This commemoration of the District of Columbia Compensated Emancipation Act will kickoff with a program inside the Museum beginning at 10 am. It will follow with a wreath-laying ceremony to honor 3,100 enslaved persons freed in 1862 and anti-slavery activists at the African American Civil War Memorial.
