Since 1997, Stand Up! has waged a sustained and consistent campaign advocating for equal civil and human rights, to which the people of Washington, DC are entitled.

The Diverse City Fund works to nurture community leaders and grassroots projects which are acting to transform DC into a more just, vibrant place to live.  Through their grantmaking, they identify, support and connect people in communities of color who are engaged in change work.  The DCF supports the development of community-level social change by funding projects that have less access to traditional funding sources.

Several dozen students, activists and elected officials rallied yesterday to decry a federal law that requires the dismissal of a social studies teacher from the District's Dunbar Senior High School because he ran for D.C. Council.
